The Careful Optimist — Still hopeful. No longer naïve.
How the Circle works · The bridge, step by step

A real decision arrives. The Circle gives it a disciplined bridge to a responsible next move.

The bridge is not certainty. It is the working structure that carries a live decision from pressure and incomplete information toward a qualified present position you can explain.

The bridge beneath the membership
01Decision arrivesA real choice lands.
02Structured recordFacts and gaps become visible.
03Premise Decision EngineThe reasoning is examined.
04Present positionA next move you can explain.

You still make the crossing. The Circle helps make the structure under your feet visible.

Why recurring support exists

The first decision may be whether to begin. The next decisions arrive because you did.

The Circle is not a subscription you keep “in case another opportunity appears.” It is an ongoing decision environment for advertising, suppliers, partners, finance, software, hiring, pricing, expansion, reinvestment, persistence and exit.

Opportunity is the front door. Decision support is the larger work.

The complete journey

The bridge is already there before the pressure arrives.

You do not invent a decision process in the moment. You bring the live decision into a structure that already knows how to separate evidence, assumptions, gaps, risk and next moves.

01

When you join

You receive access to the complete method in the member environment, all eleven working tools, access to the Premise Decision Engine, the member library from the month you join and the support included in the membership option you chose. The separate US$149 Complete Decision Guide is not included as a permanent standalone download.

02

When a decision appears

You choose the tool that matches the decision, answer the guided questions, generate a structured record and bring it into the Premise Decision Engine.

The bridge in working detail

One decision. Seven practical moves.

The point is not to complete more paperwork. It is to move the decision from an unstructured story to a qualified present position.

01

Name the decision

Write the decision as one clear sentence.

02

Choose the relevant tool

Use the one tool that matches the issue. You do not complete all eleven at once.

03

Answer the guided questions

Separate evidence from assertion, identify assumptions, define acceptable downside and make missing information visible.

EstablishedSupported now ClaimedSomeone says it AssumedNot yet verified UnknownStill to learn
04

Generate the decision record

Your answers become a structured PDF that preserves the facts, present position and unresolved questions.

05

Bring it into the Premise Decision Engine

Confirm that the facts and context have been understood correctly before examining the reasoning.

06

Examine what carries the decision

Test the strongest evidence, assumptions, risks, dependencies, trade-offs and unanswered questions.

07

Record the next responsible move

The next move may be a question, verification, smaller test, limit, renegotiation, responsible yes, responsible no or a decision not yet ready to be made.

A present position, not a forced verdict

The method does not require every decision to collapse into yes or no.

ProceedEnough is known to move responsibly. Proceed only if…Move when named conditions are resolved. Pause and verifyMaterial information is still missing and deserves evidence, clarification or a smaller test. DeclineThe downside, fit or evidence does not presently support proceeding.
Ongoing member material

The Monthly Decision Briefing is recorded—not live.

Each month, Lance prepares a recorded briefing examining recurring decision patterns, practical lessons, common risks and useful questions. You watch it in your own time.

Library from the month you join

Your library begins with the month you join and grows forward while your membership remains active. A complete historical archive is not automatically included.

Two practical communications

A Decision Brief and Working Prompt help you pause, examine and continue the decision already in front of you.

Anonymised lessons

Recurring themes may inform future material, but identifying details are not shared without permission.

Guided Membership

The complete system, used repeatedly.

Guided Membership includes the complete method in the member environment, all eleven tools, the Premise Decision Engine, unlimited decision cycles while active, ongoing member material and written support within the published standard. The separate US$149 Complete Decision Guide is a permanent standalone product and is not included as a membership download.

The final decision remains yours. The Circle does not certify an opportunity, guarantee an outcome or replace legal, financial, tax, medical or regulated professional advice.

Closer Access

One live decision enters a prepared private process.

Closer does not unlock a different method. It adds preparation and priority around one defined decision during each active paid month.

One Prepared Decision Review each active paid month

The Decision Desk organises the facts, evidence, assumptions, gaps and unresolved questions. The prepared review includes the red-team challenge, relevant questions and concise Decision Note. Unused monthly reviews do not accumulate.

Priority follow-through

Written follow-through stays tied to the decision already reviewed and within the published support standard. It is not unlimited consulting or a second unrelated decision thread.

Monthly Closer Decision Room with Lance

A shared live Closer session for submitted questions, selected patterns and anonymised cases. Attendance is optional.

Prepared 30-minute Founder Review

After each six active paid months, one prepared private 30-minute review becomes available for a consequential decision already through the Decision Desk.

Same method. Different amount of help.

Guided and Closer start from the same decision discipline.

The difference is not what you are allowed to know. It is how much of the preparation and human review you want around a live decision.

Two thoughtful workspaces showing Guided Membership using the complete method independently and Closer Access adding prepared personal decision material around the same method.
Guided: the complete method, tools and support. Closer: the same method, with more prepared personal work around the decision.
Support

Useful support has boundaries.

Guided members receive written support within the published standard. Closer Access members receive priority written support within that same standard. Priority affects the order of prepared attention; it does not mean instant replies, unlimited messages or continuous private access.

The outcome

You may not finish with certainty. You should finish with a clearer decision.

The evidence should be clearer, the assumptions more visible, the missing information more specific, the downside better understood and the next move easier to defend.

A clean product boundary

Membership access and permanent Guide ownership are different things.

Guided Membership includes the complete method in the member environment, all eleven tools, Premise Decision Engine access, briefings, updated resources and written support while membership is active.

The standalone US$149 Complete Decision Guide is a separate permanent product for someone who wants to own the self-directed method independently. It is not included as a permanent download with Guided Membership.

Door Four also has a separate one-off route: the US$695 Independent Decision File for one consequential decision without membership or tools.
